Storyline : When the young Iris Murdoch meets fellow student John Bayly at the University of Oxford, he is a naive virgin easily flummoxed by her libertine spirit, personality and artistic talent. Decades later, while living as husband and wife, John cares for his wife Iris who begins to experience forgetfulness and dementia. Her condition deteriorates from the ravages of Alzheimer's and that brings frustration on John.

Storyline : Victor Mancini(Rockwell) is a medical school dropout who has devised an ingenious plan to pay for his Alzheimer's afflicted mother's medical bill. He pretends to choke on food pieces and allows fellow patrons to save him. Feeling responsible for Victor's life, they go on sending cheques to support him which he uses for his mother's treatment.
